Francis Duku - Executive Committee Chairman
Francis doubles his duties as ASPSU Executive Committee Chairman with being the Founder and CEO of Our Game. He also carries out roles on the Kick It Out Professional Players Guidance Group (which has been set up to act as the voice of players at all levels of the game to guide Kick It Out on strategic involvement and interaction with players), and as a Chair on the FA's National Chairman's Panel adjudicating on issues of discipline involving discrimination in the grassroots level of the game.
As his non-league career spanning two decades was entering what he expected to be its final few years, Francis took the risk and decision to use his extensive experience, know how and contacts to create and launch both the ASPSU and Our Game.
Having started his career in the youth team at Reading FC and ultimately not being offered professional terms, Francis entered the world of non-league football as an 18 year old with dreams of getting back into the professional game, with Maidenhead United being the first club he chose to settle and play for.
Over the career that followed, over 500 appearances were racked up at all levels from the Conference National down to the Ryman League Division One South, playing for teams such as Crawley Town, Gravsend & Northfleet (now known as Ebbsfleet United), Lewes, Bromley and Dulwich Hamlet, firmly establishing Francis with many as a fixture on the non-league circuit. During this time he has won a league title (at what is now Conference South level), multiple promotions and cups, representative honours, multiple selections for touring with the renowned Middlesex Wanderers, and been continually linked with moves back into the professional game right up until the age of 28!
Joe Vines - Executive Committee Member
Joe is a non league player of some thirteen years and counting, who started playing senior football at the age of seventeen. His career started in local football in the South London Alliance/Kent County League with Cray Valley PM, and has seen him represent a range of clubs including Cray Wanderers, Bromley, Lewes, AFC Wimbledon and Welling United before settling at Tooting and Mitcham for a 4 year spell. His career has now completed a full circle as he is currently back playing for Cray Wanderers.
Throughout the course of his career, Joe has been fortunate enough to win the Ryman Division One South, as well as winning promotion to the newly formed Conference South in its first year, via play-off success. His time at Tooting and Mitcham also saw him enjoy another promotion and an appearance in the FA Cup first round, which he classes as his proudest moment in football.
His journey through non-league has taken in numerous clubs but more importantly has given him an understanding of the levels in professionalism that occur at each stage of the pyramid as well as the challenges regarding wage structures, injury issues, what it takes to win trophies, dealing with confidence and form problems, and the range of highs and the lows that we all experience in the game of football.
Che Stadhart - Executive Committee Member
With a career in non-league football that has spanned all its levels over 16 years while representing clubs such as Leyton Pennant (now Waltham Forest), Gravesend & Northfleet (now Ebbsfleet United), Margate, Welling United, Thurrock and Harlow Town, Che has certainly encountered the full range of emotions and experiences that many of you will face throughout the course of your football careers, and the impact on your life that also happens as a result of this.
Throughout his career, he has experienced many highs, lows, fun and troubled times, great achievements and frustrations, and has taken many lessons from the experiences, making him an ideal person to work on the committee of the ASPSU.
Che's football experiences have seen him win numerous trophies ranging from county cups to league cups and titles, with the highlight being part of the same Gravesend & Northfleet team as Francis Duku that won promotion to the Conference National, and scoring the crucial goal that sealed the title! His success also led to him becoming an experienced campaigner with the Middlesex Wanderers and gaining representative honours with an FA XI.
In addition to this, Che also has extensive experience of university football, gained while completing his BA Honours in Leisure and Sports Management, with one year including a run to the quarter finals of the BUSA Cup. As a regular participant in Sunday League football over the years too, Che has truly experienced football at many of the levels possible for those the ASPSU is to cater for.
